Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive within 1 hour of draw.


Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s). Spin down, refrigerate within 1 hour of draw, and send 1 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of EDTA plasma refrigerated in a tightly-stoppered tube. If there is a delay in transport of >7 hour, send specimen frozen in plastic vial. 

Note:  Specimen may only be thawed once for viability.
