Specimen Requirements

Draw blood in a lavender-top (K2 EDTA) tube(s). Tube must be at least half full. Send 3 mL (minimum volume:  0.5 mL in an EDTA MICROTAINER®) of EDTA whole blood refrigerated. Forward promptly.

Note:  Specimen is stable for 24 hours at ambient temperature. If there is a delay in transport of >12 hours, a peripheral slide should accompany specimen.
